How to Attempt This Paper

  1. 1

Paper I is 100 questions in 2 hours — that is 72 seconds per question on average. Pace yourself.

  2. 2

Start with your strongest section to secure early marks and build momentum.

  3. 3

General Awareness (35 marks) is the largest section — do not rush through it. Read each option carefully.

  4. 4

For Quantitative Aptitude, attempt the straightforward questions first (Simplification, Percentages). Skip and return to time-consuming ones.

  5. 5

No negative marking — attempt every single question before time is up. Never leave a blank.

  6. 6

Digital Literacy (5 questions) takes the least time — attempt it quickly to bank easy marks.

  7. 7

Keep 5–8 minutes at the end to go back to skipped questions.

Preparation Tips

1

General Awareness (35 marks) is the highest-weighted section. Punjab-specific topics — History, Geography, Culture, Economy — are tested heavily. Cover PSEB Class 9–10 Social Science and maintain a current affairs habit for the last 6 months.

2

Quantitative Aptitude (20 marks) is at 10+2 level. Simplification, Percentages, Profit & Loss, and Ratio & Proportion together typically account for 14–16 questions. Master these four topics before moving to others.

3

Mental Ability (20 marks) is pattern-based. Practise Number Series, Letter Series, Direction Sense, and Blood Relations daily for 30 minutes. Your speed and accuracy will improve rapidly within 2–3 weeks.

4

Punjabi Language Skills (10 marks): revise Punjabi grammar (shudh-ashudh, synonyms, antonyms, idioms) from PSEB Class 9–10 Punjabi textbooks. Translation and unseen passage questions are common.

5

Digital Literacy (5 marks) is at a basic level — MS Office functions, internet terminology, and mobile phone basics. These are the easiest marks in the paper — do not skip this section in preparation.

6

Paper II (Punjabi qualifying) is separate but critical — failing it disqualifies you regardless of Paper I score. Dedicate at least 20% of your preparation time to Punjabi language practice.
